Cakes for College Scholarship

Ben Paine received a scholarship from the Community Foundation of NCW as a senior at Wenatchee High School in 1995. As an adult, Ben and his family chose to give back to the community that gave to him by starting a foundation to raise money for local students to attend college. The Keep it in the Valley Foundation’s 150 volunteers sell funnel cakes at the Apple Blossom food fair each year and donate all of the proceeds to the Cakes for College Scholarship Fund. With this scholarship, they wish to assist an aspiring, qualified high school senior in pursuit of a college education at Wenatchee Valley College. The ideal candidate is an engaging individual with capable communication skills who has been, and continues to be, involved in school activities and the community. Most importantly, the student aspires to goals requiring an advanced education through matriculation of a college degree.
