This session will focus on advocacy in rural Washington. Join policy and advocacy experts to talk about the importance of amplifying rural voices in political discourse and creating sustainable solutions tailored to local needs. We’ll cover community organizing\, messaging\, and coalition building. Let’s discuss how to collaborate to ensure equitable access to resources by rural communities. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCost\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFree to attend – please register to receive a Zoom link\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWho Should Attend\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAnyone living\, working\, or serving in a rural community in Washington State.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRecording\n\n\n\n\nRegistrants will receive the webinar recording by email after the event. If there are breakout rooms\, they will not be included in the recording. He has a strong background in human services\, housing\, education\, and business sector issues. He began his career at UW Tacoma and is the Principal of his firm The Cascadia Group. Additionally\, he has managed several state and local campaigns. He has a deep understanding and instinct for translating policy ideas into legislative action. Adán also consults clients in the state legislature and local government levels in the development of affordable homeownership and public utility projects\, human service contracting\, developments in state law for residential property appraisers\, recycling issues for brewing companies\, and consumer protection issues for independent auto dealers. \nElana Mainer\, Executive Director at Rural People’s Voice\nElana Mainer was born in Eastern Washington and calls rural Okanogan County home. After many years as a social worker and lots of hard-earned wins as a leader in rural community health\, Mainer cofounded Rural People’s Voice (RPV) in 2020 to build real power for working people across race and class\, and now serves as its executive director. \nOskar Zambrano\, CEO at Somos Más Community Strategies\nOskar Zambrano is an accomplished nonprofit leader and government affairs consultant with over 15 years of experience in nonprofit advocacy\, public policy\, governmentaffairs\, and community organizing. He is the founder and CEO ofSomos Más Community Strategies\, a consultancy that supports nonprofits and BIPOC community leaders in advancing their advocacy and public policy goals.
