John and Elnora Smith Scholarship

John and Elnora Smith were long-time Orondo orchardists who were active in business and strong community contributors. The Smiths believed in the importance of education. As a result, the John and Elnora Smith Foundation established an endowed scholarship fund at the Community Foundation of North Central Washington in 2014. The scholarship was established to help students in the Orondo, Waterville and Eastmont School Districts who are strong academically and demonstrate good citizenship and an interest in their community.

Application Opens: January 1st
Application Due Date: March 1st

Eligibility:

  1. Three scholarships are given:
    1. One to a current graduate of Waterville High School
    2. One to a current graduate of Eastmont High School who is a resident of the Orondo School District
    3. One to a current graduate of Eastmont High School who is a resident of the Eastmont School District
  2. Award based on scholarship, citizenship, community involvement and financial need
  3. Award is not renewable
