Now Accepting Applications for Stronger Schools Grants

The Community Foundation of NCW is now accepting applications for Stronger Schools grants, awarding up to $5,000 to support public education in North Central Washington.
To be eligible, Stronger Schools applicants must serve Pre-K through 12 public schools in Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan counties (excluding the Methow Valley School District which is supported by the Methow Valley Fund).
The foundation seeks to fund creative, innovative programs that inspire students, enhance academics, improve the school’s environment, and make learning fun and accessible.
Activities considered include: innovative programs responding to changes in the school; seed funding for new and creative programs that offer opportunities for positive change; programs that serve low-income or at-risk student; programs that facilitate collaboration among staff and/or advance the strategic plan; and programs that identify, enhance, and expand leadership opportunities for student.
Activities generally not supported include: core operating expenses that should be included in the school budget; endowment, capital, and annual fund drives; multi-year grants; funding for items purchased prior to grant; sponsorships or activities related to fundraising.
Only one application may be submitted per school and must be approved by the school principal to submit. Multiple programs or projects can be included in one application, including requests from PTAs and Education Foundations.
