Now Accepting Grant Applications for Manson Giving Great Grants

Supporting Arts, Academics, and Career Readiness in Manson Schools

Application deadline: January 23, 2015

The Community Foundation of NCW is now accepting applications for the “Manson Giving Great Grants” program (Manson G3). Established in 2008 by longtime Manson residents Jack and Gale Courtney, the Manson G3 program gives sophomore, junior and senior class Associated Student Body (ASB) officers an opportunity to improve their school district through participating as grantmakers of the program.

Manson G3 awards support programs specifically in the areas of arts, academics, and career readiness. Any student, teacher, administrator, or volunteer in the Manson School District may apply.

Each application is reviewed by the ASB with the Community Foundation acting as advisor and mentor through the grant evaluation process. The ASB students determine all award recipients and amounts, giving them a unique experience in learning the various aspects of grant-making, and value and impact of local philanthropy.

“There is something almost magical about the creativity these grants have inspired in our district.” said Manson Schools Principal, Don Vanderholm. “Suddenly, it’s possible to think outside the box and go there. Furthermore, we see teachers going for other grants because of the success they’ve experienced with the G3s.”
