Rowland and Ethel Slusser Jones Scholarship
Rowland and Ethel Mae Slusser Jones were born in 1912 to pioneer Waterville families. Both were from loving, caring, hard-working farming families. Rowland and Ethel did not have any children of their own, but they had many nieces and nephews who filled their lives with joy. Both Rowland and Ethel Mae felt they had been blessed in life by growing up in Waterville, which gave them a good start and a strong sense of community. They felt strongly about the power of education, and the importance of giving back in a way that might be helpful to graduates of their beloved hometown. As a result, they chose to gift their estate to worthwhile causes, including the establishment of this scholarship fund through the Community Foundation of North Central Washington.
