The Community Foundation’s story began in part with a local real estate sale. In 1986, Wenatchee Valley Clinic purchased the Blue Cross building on Emerson Street from Chelan County Medical Service Corp. The proceeds helped provide the resources used to establish the Greater Wenatchee Community Foundation.
That purchase helped turn a local asset into lasting support for our communities.
The connection went beyond the building itself. Physicians associated with Wenatchee Valley Clinic and Chelan County Medical Service Corp. became some of the new Foundation’s first officers and trustees. Their involvement helped turn a pivotal transaction into a lasting commitment to our communities.
Today, Wenatchee Valley Medical Group carries forward the legacy of the Wenatchee Valley Clinic. Through that connection, WVMG remains part of the Community Foundation’s founding story, carrying forward a shared commitment whose impact continues forty years later.
