Wed Apr 22025 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM PDT

Online, Zoom

April 2, 2025
12:00-1:30 pm Pacific

Money is the fuel that drives your organization forward. You need to understand the tools nonprofits use to track, manage, and oversee money if you are going to make the best decisions for your organization.

Let’s Talk Money is designed to give board members and the people who work with them the knowledge and opportunity to practice they need to strengthen their organization’s financial literacy. By the end of the session, you will be able to show your colleagues what you know about your organization’s financial story.

Let’s Talk Money is an interactive learning event that covers these topics:

  • How to read a STATEMENT OF FINANCIAL POSITION (Balance Sheet) and STATEMENT OF ACTIVITIES (Income Statement)
  • How to BUDGET to increase core mission support
  • How to improve OVERSIGHT to reduce fraud and error

Let’s Talk Money is accessible to people new to nonprofit finance or comfortable talking about money. It is also helpful to financial experts looking for ways to communicate financial topics with a diversity of people. Participants will receive a workbook to help bring lessons back into the life of their organizations.

GRANT RECIPIENT

Due to being rural, remote, and geographically isolated, we must be prepared to do more than respond to emergencies. We have become a healthcare partner who fills gaps in service. The grant allowed our board the time and ability to work with a Strategic Planner to modify our plan to address those gaps.

My father was a migrant agricultural worker who eventually started his own cherry and apple orchard. He told me if I wanted to live a better life, I had to get an education. I plan on starting a career with the Chelan PUD with a passion for renewable energy and in turn give back to my parents and community for supporting my dreams.
