James A Wharton SCHOLARSHIP

The James A Wharton Scholarship was established at the Community Foundation of North Central Washington in 2017 to encourage and support students entering the collision repair industry and other trades. The scholarship supports students from Chelan or Douglas County who are planning to attend or currently attending a trade school, with priority given to those who are attending auto and/or collision repair programs.

Application Opens: January 1st
Application Due Date: June 1st

Eligibility:
  1. Graduating senior, current college student, or nontraditional student returning to college later in life from Chelan or Douglas County
  2. Will be attending a trade or vocational school or program
  3. Will be pursuing study in the trades, with preference given to auto collision
  4. Will be attending college full-time
  5. Demonstrates a willingness to learn
  6. Renewal is possible; must reapply with new applicants for competitive renewal

I am currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science at Stanford. Since the beginning of my freshman year I have been involved with clubs such as Stanford’s Space Initiative (SSI) and the Society of Latinx Engineers (SOLE). In SSI I built a rocket and launched it.
