John and Mary Martin SCHOLARSHIP
John Martin was a long time German and Social Studies teacher in the Waterville School District. The Martin family was very concerned that deserving students from Waterville High School receive as many resources as possible to further their education. The fund was established from Mary Martin’s will in 1987. In 2014, the scholarship committee moved the funds to the Community Foundation of North Central Washington to ensure that the fund would continue to fulfill its purpose in perpetuity. Today the scholarship continues to support graduating seniors from Waterville High School who are attending post-secondary school in the United States.
