Local Advisory Board Application
Okanogan Valley Fund
We are seeking to add new volunteers to serve as Local Advisory Board members in the Okanogan Valley – servicing the eastern half of the county from Oroville in the north to Pateros in the south.
Applications are due by July 15, 2026
Do you love your community and believe in the important role that nonprofits contribute to making it a better place to live, work, and play? Are you eager to learn more about the challenges and opportunities facing local communities? Do you have a passion for supporting and being a champion of groups working to move the needle on community issues?
The Community Foundation of North Central Washington established locally based Legacy Funds to support nonprofits and community organizations with programs that address regional needs throughout North Central Washington. The Local Advisory Boards (LABs) represent a broad and diverse cross-section of the communities we serve and include a mix of long-time and newer residents, working and retired individuals, donors, volunteers, nonprofit representatives, and community members.
Advisors provide leadership and input, recommend grants from the Legacy Funds established to benefit each community, help grow the funds, and inspire potential donors to leave a legacy in their local community. As a LAB member, you'll evaluate grant applications, attend site visits, and be an ambassador with donors, nonprofit partners, and the community.
Local Advisory Board Members agree to participate for a three year term (renewable once), actively engage in Advisory Board meetings (3 - 4 per year), and attend a one-time mandatory regional training and dinner on May 19, 2027, from 3 pm- 7 pm in Chelan.
We’ve created a full schedule of future meeting dates/times to provide more advanced notice to everyone for next year. Click here for the schedule. Please check this schedule to ensure you can participate in meetings and site visits.
