Stella Knoebel and Mary Jean Carter SCHOLARSHIP

Stella Knoebel, a piano teacher in Wenatchee, encouraged and mentored Mary Jean Carter in eventually developing her own piano teaching studio when she moved to Wenatchee. Mary Jean loved to share her knowledge with developing piano and organ students. This scholarship was established to financially assist serious piano and/or organ students in obtaining a college degree, preferably in music education. Mary Jean hoped that this scholarship would enable future students to become music teachers. Establishing the scholarship was her way of continuing to share the joy of music.

"My father was a migrant agricultural worker who eventually started his own cherry and apple orchard. [He] told me if I wanted to live a better life, I had to get an education. I plan on starting a career with the Chelan PUD with a passion for renewable energy and in turn give back to my parents and community for supporting my dreams.”
