Give Methow Celebrates 10 Years of Community Generosity
Give Methow is an annual month-long fundraising campaign that makes it easy for anyone to support the nonprofits that serve the Methow Valley. Hosted each October by the Community Foundation of NCW, the campaign shines a spotlight on the incredible variety of local organizations that enrich the community—whether through the arts, education, the environment, housing, or social services. With a minimum donation of just $10, everyone has the chance to give back and 100% of every gift goes directly to the nonprofits.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Give Methow, which runs October 1–31 and continues to provide a simple, powerful way for the community to come together in support of local causes. Since the campaign’s launch in 2015, donors have contributed nearly $5 million to Methow Valley nonprofits. This year, 47 nonprofits are participating in the campaign.
Donors may give to one or more specific nonprofits or contribute to the “Give to All” pool, which is divided among all participants. The match pool is seeded with a $35,000 contribution from an anonymous donor and $10,000 from the Community Foundation. The Give to All pool last year provided an additional $3915.32 grant to each nonprofit participating in Give Methow.
Adding to the campaign fun, every Monday in October is “Funday Monday.” Each donation made on Mondays during the campaign enters the donor into a drawing to win a $500 Give Methow Giving Card to use toward the nonprofits of their choice. To commemorate the campaign’s 10th year, extra giving cards will also be awarded throughout the month, including at nonprofit events across the valley, giving the community even more opportunities to win while supporting local organizations.
“For ten years, Give Methow has shown what happens when people rally around the community they love,” said Beth Stipe, the Foundation’s Executive Director. “Last year alone, the campaign raised over $920,000 for Methow Valley nonprofits. That kind of support is essential to their sustainability, and it matters now more than ever.”
