A Decade of Generosity: Give NCW Marks 10 Years of Community Giving in North Central Washington

Give NCW, the annual online giving campaign of the Community Foundation of NCW that raises funds for local nonprofits throughout the region, is celebrating 10 years of community-powered

philanthropy—a milestone shaped by thousands of neighbors who raise funds for local nonprofits year after year. Since 2015, the campaign has helped raise more than $4.5 million to support organizations across Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan counties. This year, there are nearly 100 nonprofits participating in the campaign.  From Thanksgiving Day through December 31, visit GiveNCW.org to learn more about the nearly one hundred participating nonprofits and to contribute any amount—even $10. Thanks to the donors and to the Community Foundation who

generously cover credit card fees, 100% of every gift goes directly to all participating nonprofits.

Turkey Trot 2025: Kids Race

The 10th anniversary campaign kicked off Thanksgiving morning with the annual Give NCW Turkey Trot at Pybus Public Market. The community showed up in record numbers. An amazing 1,747 runners (including 188 kids for the kids’ race) registered and, despite the cold morning and misty rain, 1,559 checked in on race morning, joined by 149 canine companions. Together, these participants helped raise $37,421 for Give to All, the Give NCW fund that is split equally amongst participating nonprofits who raise $1,000 during the campaign.

Turkey Trot 2025 Runners: Start of the Race

This event is made possible through generous support from partners across the community, including our Presenting Sponsor, Wenatchee Valley Medical Group; Gold Sponsors, Cordell Neher & Company, PLLC, and Cashmere Valley Bank; and local partners such as La Pera Radio, Café Mela, Crunch Pak, and Firehouse Pet Shop—along with the many volunteers and community members who showed up to make race day a success.

“What began as an experiment has turned into one of the region’s largest community-wide giving events,” says Beth Stipe, Executive Director of the Community Foundation of NCW. “People here believe in taking care of each other and rally—every year—to do it all again. Every gift matters. It all helps.”

With the Give NCW Turkey Trot setting a strong foundation, the Give NCW campaign continues through the holidays—inviting everyone to join in giving back to their communities.

Turkey Trot 2025: Cheer Squad!

A powerful driver for Give NCW’s momentum comes from small gifts that add up in a big way. Last year alone, one-third of all donations were for just $10, collectively generating more than $300,000 in support of local causes. It’s proof that generosity isn’t defined by the size of the gift—it’s built by a community choosing to give together.

With the year-end giving season underway, donors with Donor Advised Funds are encouraged to make grant recommendations early in December to ensure their gifts are received and counted before the close of the campaign. And throughout the month, every donation made on a Monday enters the donor into a drawing to win $1,000 to give back through Give NCW.

Ten years of giving. Ten years of good. Ten years of community—all, right here at home.

Due to being rural, remote, and geographically isolated, we must be prepared to do more than respond to emergencies. We have become a healthcare partner who fills gaps in service. The grant allowed our board the time and ability to work with a Strategic Planner to modify our plan to address those gaps.

My father was a migrant agricultural worker who eventually started his own cherry and apple orchard. He told me if I wanted to live a better life, I had to get an education. I plan on starting a career with the Chelan PUD with a passion for renewable energy and in turn give back to my parents and community for supporting my dreams.
