The Wenatchee Valley Dispute Resolution Center (WVDRC) is offering a Resolution Washington and Washington Mediation Association-approved Basic Mediation Training (BMT) course in Summer 2024.

The WVDRC offers this comprehensive conflict resolution course for anyone who:

• Is interested in becoming a certified volunteer mediator with the WVDRC.

• Wants to learn more effective ways to deal with conflict at work, at home, or in the classroom.

• Is in the legal, counseling, human resources, or education field and needs relevant professional training.

The BMT course teaches the in-depth process of mediation, communication skills, and conflict dynamics to promote peaceful and constructive approaches to conflict and its resolution, whether in the workplace, home, or in our community.

Trainees who have completed the BMT course are eligible to begin a mediation practicum to become a certified volunteer mediator with the WVDRC.

Our BMT is an interactive learning experience offered over 5 days (June 24-28). All training materials are provided. The registration fee is $550 per person. For groups of 3 or more persons from the same organization, registration is $450 per individual.

Training is approved for 36-38 Clock Hours for educators.

Aero Methow Rescue Service

GRANT RECIPIENT

Due to being rural, remote, and geographically isolated, we must be prepared to do more than respond to emergencies. We have become a healthcare partner who fills gaps in service. The grant allowed our board the time and ability to work with a Strategic Planner to modify our plan to address those gaps.

My father was a migrant agricultural worker who eventually started his own cherry and apple orchard. He told me if I wanted to live a better life, I had to get an education. I plan on starting a career with the Chelan PUD with a passion for renewable energy and in turn give back to my parents and community for supporting my dreams.
