The Community Foundation of NCW has established a fire fund to help support firefighters and displaced families and animals affected by the recent fires in the Wenatchee Valley.
The “Sleepy Hollow Heights Fire Support” and will provide food and other needs. Monetary donations can be made online here or at the Community Foundation office at 9 S Wenatchee Avenue, Wenatchee, WA 98801.
Donations of food and items can be directed to the Apple Valley Red Cross.

Does the funding include helping the animals?
Yes – we will work with families on a case by case basis with their needs, and if that includes animal support we can do that. The Wenatchee Valley Humane Society is also providing support for animals.

Wenatchee Valley Humane Society
The Wenatchee Valley Humane Society is doing any and everything they can to help those who are in need of animal care. Dawn Davies, Director of the Humane Society, who also had to evacuate her home, was able to provide a great resource for those in need for their furry friends.
If you need immediate help, please call Animal Control at (509) 662-9577 and press one. Animal Control will be the first to respond for animal care.
If you are needing supplies, please head over to the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society, where they are accepting donations of any sort. They will take in anything from leashes and collars, to food bowls and beds. They will also accept donations such as gift cards from any local convenience stores where they can purchase items they need.
If you need to drop your pet off, please call the number above and the Humane Society will make any type of arrangement they can to accommodate your pets.
I would like to offer rooms in my home to any displace persons from the fire. I live in St Maries ID, I have a 3 bedrooms house and could make more room. I have 8 acres. I would be happy to receive displaced pets also. I have chickens, so would have to screen dogs re chasing the free range chickens. I can provide some food (living on limited income). Let me know, If anyone can use my help. I am an experienced home health care giver and retired EMT.

Hi Vicki – what an incredibly generous offer! We are working now on helping the victims with housing options. I believe they all are required to remain in Wenatchee due to jobs and family obligations. I will certainly share this in case there are families that have the flexibility to relocate. Thank you so much for reaching out to our community!
If there are victims who are in need of clothing, I have access to new women’s clothing in many sizes. Please let me know if this type of donation would help.

We do not accept clothing here at the foundation, but you may want to contact either the Salvation Army or the Colvilee Indian Casino in Okoangan is accepting all types of donated items. You can learn more on our resource page.
