The Community Foundation of North Central Washington (CFNCW) is proud to announce that Craig Homchick, a long-standing resident of Wenatchee and a dedicated advocate for community philanthropy, has been awarded the prestigious Robert L. White Award for Excellence in Community Philanthropy.

This annual award honors professional advisors who don’t shy away from talking to their clients about charitable giving or leaving bequests in their estate plans that will benefit this community for generations to come. Community members and colleagues submit nominations for the award.

“Craig has devoted his career supporting businesses, families, and nonprofits in NCW” said a nominator. “His unique set of skills as both a CPA and CFP have helped successful community members and family businesses as they plan for the future, looking for ways to give back to their community. He exemplifies excellence in community philanthropy. ”

Homchick has served on several nonprofit boards, including the Community Foundation of NCW, the Central Washington Hospital Foundation, and Pybus Charitable Foundation, offering guidance and professional expertise to help strengthen organizations.

Another nominator shared: “[We] have known Craig for 15 years and have worked with him as a professional advisor. He is a kind, fun-loving man, putting his family first. He is also a businessman of the highest quality and a deep thinker on all aspects of life. Our family has been fortunate to have benefit of Craig’s expertise in estate planning and charitable giving.”

The Robert L. White Award was established to honor the legacy of Bob White, a founding board member of the CFNCW, whose generous spirit and belief in the power of philanthropy has left a lasting imprint on the region. Recipients of this award reflect those same values.

“Craig Homchick exemplifies what this award represents,” said Beth Stipe, Executive Director of the Community Foundation. “His selfless service and generosity have inspired others and made a measurable difference in the lives of many. We are honored to celebrate him.”

The award was presented at the Annual Donor Appreciation event, where family, friends, and community members gathered to recognize his remarkable contributions.

Due to being rural, remote, and geographically isolated, we must be prepared to do more than respond to emergencies. We have become a healthcare partner who fills gaps in service. The grant allowed our board the time and ability to work with a Strategic Planner to modify our plan to address those gaps.

My father was a migrant agricultural worker who eventually started his own cherry and apple orchard. He told me if I wanted to live a better life, I had to get an education. I plan on starting a career with the Chelan PUD with a passion for renewable energy and in turn give back to my parents and community for supporting my dreams.
