Wenatchee Valley Make a Difference Day is Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, and the Community Foundation of NCW has grants of up to $200 are available to kick-start community projects. Qualified applicants must bet a 501(c)3 public charity, public agency (such as school or government), or have a fiscal sponsor and they must have participated in Make a Difference Day in 2021.
The funds can be used to in a broad variety of ways to help implement or enhance the quality of volunteer efforts for projects on Make a Difference Day. Grants are made possible through past prize money awarded to the community and is managed by the Community Foundation of NCW. The Wenatchee Valley has received nine national awards since 1991 recognizing outstanding community service efforts.
“The people of North Central Washington are incredibly giving,” said grant coordinator Laurel Helton. “Our 4th Saturday in October tradition of ‘see a need and do a good deed’ brings out the best in neighbors. We are joining hands to continue to support projects that bring us together to improve the place we live. It is grass roots caring for our communities and we invite all to participate.”
