Community Partnership Grant Now Open

Confluence Health and the Wenatchee Valley Medical Group announced today that their Community Partnership Fund would begin accepting applications on Saturday, June 1st to provide grants for local community causes and organizations.

The grant is jointly funded by Confluence Health and the Wenatchee Valley Medical Group (WVMG), the largest physician group affiliated with Confluence Health, and is managed by the Community Foundation of North Central Washington. Created to support causes and organizations in Chelan, Douglas, Grant, and Okanogan counties, the fund aims to award up to $500,000 annually in grants that focus on health and wellness, education, or arts and culture. In particular, the fund looks to award grants that significantly benefit the community or drive positive local economic impact. For education grants, special focus is given to applications for events that target math and science education.

“As an organization with a mission to be local care by and for our community, investing in this special place through these grants is just one of the ways we can help contribute to all those groups that make this region so great,” remarked Dr. Andrew Jones, CEO of Confluence Health. “We’re extremely proud of all the benefits this funding can bring to so many deserving groups.”

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicants must be either a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, a public agency, or a public school serving students in Chelan, Douglas, Grant, or Okanogan counties.
  • Each organization or group is limited to one grant proposal per grant cycle, with the exception of public schools where applications are limited to one grant proposal per school building and one grant proposal for a district-wide request per grant cycle.
  • Private schools, churches, or faith-based organizations are not eligible for the grant, even if the grant is intended for non-religious purposes.

Once the applications are submitted, the Community Partnership Fund Committee reviews all submissions to determine awards. While there is no set number of grants given each year, each grant awarded will range between a minimum of $1,000 to a maximum of $15,000 per grant, with funds being disbursed to the selected causes and organizations in October.

Application Details:

  • Submission Start Date: June 1, 2024
  • Application Deadline: July 31, 2024
  • Questions: Contact Jennifer Short, Director of Community Grants, at jennifer.s@cfncw.org or (509) 663-7716

“Our partnership with Confluence Health in this fund helps to make a real impact and it’s always exciting each year to see the many creative and excellent causes and projects that receive funding,” reflected Dr. Jennifer Jorgensen, president of the Wenatchee Valley Medical Group and a Board Trustee at the Foundation. “We’re looking forward to seeing what excellent, community-focused awards are granted this year and encourage everyone who meets the criteria to submit their application.”

Due to being rural, remote, and geographically isolated, we must be prepared to do more than respond to emergencies. We have become a healthcare partner who fills gaps in service. The grant allowed our board the time and ability to work with a Strategic Planner to modify our plan to address those gaps.

My father was a migrant agricultural worker who eventually started his own cherry and apple orchard. He told me if I wanted to live a better life, I had to get an education. I plan on starting a career with the Chelan PUD with a passion for renewable energy and in turn give back to my parents and community for supporting my dreams.
