The Community Foundation of NCW is seeking nominations for the Robert L White Excellence in Community Philanthropy Award for Professional Advisors in Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan Counties.

Last year at the Foundation’s Annual Donor Appreciation Event, the inaugural award was presented to local attorney Robert White of Davis Arneil to honor and recognize his commitment to philanthropy in the region. The Community Foundation of NCW often partners with local attorneys, accountants, and financial advisors to help their clients leave charitable legacies through their will or estate plans. The role of a professional advisor is important in educating clients on the various options they may have for leaving a meaningful gift to their community.

“Having a legacy that is shared with future generations is really an American value” said Beth Stipe, the Foundation’s executive director. “For most people, charitable giving is a very private endeavor. That’s where a professional advisor like Bob comes in to support that conversation with his clients. He does an amazing job of setting that table and providing that safe space, and we know many others in our region do the same.”

The charitable legacies managed by the Foundation make up a permanent endowment that will continue to benefit the residents of North Central Washington in perpetuity. “When people leave a legacy gift, they get to be a part of this community forever”, said Stipe.

This award will be given each year at the Foundations’ Annual Donor Appreciation Event to continue honoring Professional Advisors who value sharing this charitable spirit with their clients.
