The Community Foundation of NCW’s online fundraising campaign, Give Methow, raised a record-breaking $929,372 in October of 2024 to support Methow Valley nonprofits.
Give Methow was launched in 2015 to increase awareness of local nonprofit programs and to make philanthropy accessible to all, enabling people to contribute at any level with a minimum donation starting at just $10. Give Methow is open to any 501(c)(3) nonprofit or to a fiscally sponsored organization based in the Methow Valley. The Community Foundation covers any credit card fees not paid by donors, ensuring that 100% of each contribution goes directly to these participating nonprofits.
This year’s campaign was supported by multiple matching gifts that boosted contributions to the Give to All fund, which ultimately totaled $172,274.09. The matches included a $50,000 challenge match from the Methow Valley Fund, an $11,000 donation from the Partners in Giving (PIG) Program, a $40,000 donation from an anonymous donor, and a $10,000 match from the Community Foundation of NCW. Overall, the Give to All fund provided each participating nonprofit with an additional $3,915.32.
In addition to individual donations and matching funds, the campaign featured Funday Monday events throughout October. Donors who contributed on Mondays were entered into drawings for $500 Give Methow gifts, with a total of $3,000 in prizes awarded to nonprofits chosen by the winners.
Nonprofits and Give Methow supporters celebrated the record-breaking results in November.
“What an incredible show of support for all the amazing work of Methow Valley nonprofits!” said Ashley Lodato, a Community Foundation of NCW Board Member. “The generosity of those who care about the Methow Valley is truly inspiring. It’s exciting to see how Give Methow has grown into a powerful driver of support for community organizations that make this valley so special. Thank you to all who participated in this remarkable crowdfunding campaign.”
The campaign kicked off on October 1st with a Nonprofit Olympics event at Old Schoolhouse Brewery, where nonprofits gathered for friendly competition to mark the start of the 2024 Give Methow Campaign an ended with a new, record-breaking year for 2024. Special thanks go to Old Schoolhouse Brewery and Casia Lodge & Ranch, both of which encouraged philanthropy by offering customers the option to “round up” their purchases through October to support the campaign.
“What Give Methow demonstrates more than anything else is that our little valley holds a thriving ecosystem of nonprofits with a deep river of generosity running down the middle of it. It’s uplifting to see our community come together like this” said Sara Joy Steele, Give Methow Committee Chair.
Give Methow’s continued success reflects the collaborative spirit of the Methow Valley, as community members and local businesses come together to strengthen the work of local nonprofits.
