Methow Valley Fund Grant: Applications Open for 2025

The Methow Valley Fund Grant (MVF), managed by the Community Foundation of NCW (CFNCW), has opened its 2025 grant application cycle as of December 1st, 2024. Applications will be accepted through January 15th, 2025.

The Methow Valley Fund Grant offers two grant options to meet diverse organizational needs: MVF9K grants of $9,000 and MVF4K grants of $4,000, with no partial grants awarded. Organizations headquartered in and serving the Methow Valley are encouraged to apply for unrestricted core operating support. Tribal agencies, fiscally sponsored programs, or a 501(c)3 public charity serving the Methow Valley but headquartered elsewhere may apply for project-specific funding.

Government agencies are eligible for project-specific grants; however, school districts, related agencies, and fiscally sponsored programs of governmental agencies are not eligible for the Methow Valley Fund Grant. Faith-based organizations may seek funding for non-religious, program-specific support offered to the community, adhering to CFNCW’s grantmaking policies.

Applications for MVF9K grants require a full-length grant application and a site visit with Methow Valley Fund Advisors and CFNCW staff. Grantees awarded MVF9K grants must wait out one funding cycle before applying for another MVF9K grant or a MVF4K grant. In contrast, MVF4K grants have a simplified application process, requiring basic organizational information and a site visit, and may be applied for annually.

Site visits will be scheduled in February 2025, with options for in-person or virtual meetings to accommodate applicants’ preferences. Grant reports are required for MVF9K recipients but are not necessary for MVF4K grantees.

Applicants are encouraged to review the Methow Valley Fund’s Grant Guidelines and Policies to ensure eligibility and alignment with CFNCW’s grantmaking values.

Due to being rural, remote, and geographically isolated, we must be prepared to do more than respond to emergencies. We have become a healthcare partner who fills gaps in service. The grant allowed our board the time and ability to work with a Strategic Planner to modify our plan to address those gaps.

My father was a migrant agricultural worker who eventually started his own cherry and apple orchard. He told me if I wanted to live a better life, I had to get an education. I plan on starting a career with the Chelan PUD with a passion for renewable energy and in turn give back to my parents and community for supporting my dreams.
