The Community Foundation of NCW is proud to have partnered with Thriving Together NCW and dozens of local agencies to offer the Leadership Institute of NCW, a program to empower parents, families, and local residents to improve community outcomes by learning about civic leadership skills. Based on the national Parent Leadership Training Institute curriculum, the sessions focused on advocacy, communication, civics, public policy, and understanding city and state government structures. On February 27th, after a proclamation at City Hall, 26 students gathered at Wenatchee Valley Museum for a graduation ceremony with their family, friends, and peers attending in support. Each student is charged with developing and implementing a Community Project after completing the program, which were displayed at the event. We are grateful for community members who are committed to meeting the needs of their communities and making their part of the world better places for all. The next Leadership Institute of NCW will be held in Grant County beginning this fall.Read the full press release and learn more about the program here: cfncw.org/2025/03/07/leadership-institute-of-ncw-celebrates-inaugural-graduating-class/LINCW Civic Design Team & Partners: CAFÉ, Catholic Charities, Chelan-Douglas Coalition for Health Improvement, Hispanic Business Council, Communities in Schools NCW, Chelan-Douglas Community Action Council, Community Foundation of NCW, Interfaith Justice Coalition, NCW Equity Alliance, Our Valley Our Future, Rural People’s Voice, Parque Padrinos, Thriving Together NCW, Wenatchee Valley College, Wenatchee Valley Dispute Resolution Center, Wenatchee World, and Sage Step Consulting. To see all the amazing community projects this class worked on, visit: cfncw.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/One-Pager-Community-Projects.pdf ... Due to being rural, remote, and geographically isolated, we must be prepared to do more than respond to emergencies. We have become a healthcare partner who fills gaps in service. The grant allowed our board the time and ability to work with a Strategic Planner to modify our plan to address those gaps.
